Facebook Interns and Hispanics in Philanthropy Partner to Host the First Code and Impact Tech Summit for Youth of Color in the Bay Area

On Monday, HIPGive sponsored a tech training day for underrepresented Bay Area students from local YMCAs and Boys and Girls Clubs, who were given a chance to learn about computer science and basic coding at Facebook’s headquarters. Georgia Antonopoulos, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside was thrilled to see “the youth walk into it saying ‘This isn’t for me – it will be too hard.’ And then see these same girls walk away saying ‘Maybe I can build a website one day.’”
