HIP has a New Look!

It has been a labor of love and we are beyond thrilled to finally be able to share Hispanics in Philanthropy’s new look! Throughout the last year, the team has been working with Casa Blue—a branding, performance marketing and website development studio—to freshen up the HIP brand.

The new look and logo keeps the “H” from HIP and adds additional features that show the interconnectedness of the community and our work in the sector. We looked at symbols from indigenous South American & Caribbean communities such as the Mapuche, Inca, Maya, Aztecs, Taino and Hopi as well as African symbols recognizing the various enslaved Africans taken to South America. At the height of the transatlantic slave trade, more Africans were brought to Latin America than North America and we wanted to acknowledge this history but root it in Adinkra symbols. From these symbols we identified patterns that represent connection, fluidity, transparency, strength, community and courage.

This logo feels modern while also paying tribute to our heritage, foundations as an organization, and as a community.

Similarly, we wanted our colors to be bold, strong and representative of our Hispanic/Latinx heritage. For this palette, we consulted an array of flowers that can only be found in different parts of Latin America with the goal of landing on a look and feel that’s as vibrant as our cultures, people, and innovative ideas.
